How to measure water flow rate. 

You need a bucket, a watch that shows seconds, and a metric measuring jug.
  • Turn on the tap to full flow.
  • Collect the water in the bucket for ten seconds.
  • Use the measuring jug to measure the amount of water collected.
  • Multiply this amount by six -- and you have the approximate flow rate in litres per minute.
